Takahide (Tak) Akiyama

Takahide Akiyama is a long time corporate banker and a senior corporate executive and has held various senior management and leadership positions with global financial institutions and Fortune 500 companies.
He was Managing Director, General Manager and Japan Country Head with the Bank of New York, also President and CEO of the The Bank of New York Securities Company Japan Ltd.
He was the President and CEO of CB Richard Ellis Japanese operation and Executive Managing Director of San Francisco office.
Prior to these positions, he was with the Industrial Bank of Japan (IBJ) for over 25 years and held senior management positions including the Head of Private Equity and Global Project Finance as well as General Manager of San Francisco Branch. He specialized in private equity and corporate finance in such areas as acquisition finance, energy and infrastructure project finance and real estate finance. He has worked for their Los Angeles branch (Vice General Manager, London Branch as private equity director.
After retired from the finance industry, he had a consulting practice with RedBridge Group and Kyocei Consulting Partners in San Francisco.
During his consulting practice he successfully closed a transaction for a US-Japan JV alliance, in which he was again called to manage their operation in Japan (as the president and CEO of the Erex Spark Marketing ). He has been elected a board director of the parent company Erex Co., Ltd.

He holds MA and BA degrees in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PP&E) from Oxford University (Keble College), and BA degree in Economics from Keio University in Japan.

He is a board member of Japan Society of Northern California and ISCO at the Stanford University.
He has served as a board member for San Francisco Ballet and UC Berkeley International House.
